WELCOME TO BCGA ZONE 8 SOUTH

 We are a group of volunteers from across the region with the  organizational mandate to help create playing opportunities for our members, support junior pathways, and represent our clubs and members interest with BC Golf. 

We achieve these goals several ways:

 1. Run local competitions
Work with our courses to organize regional tournaments and championships (men’s, women’s, junior, senior, etc.). These events give golfers competitive opportunities without having to travel across the province, and often act as qualifiers for provincial championships.

2. Support player development
We help identify and support developing players—especially juniors—through pathways into higher-level competition within BC Golf.

3. Represent clubs and golfers locally
We act as a voice for member clubs in our region, bringing forward issues, feedback, and priorities to BC Golf, so decisions reflect regional needs (course access, scheduling, development, etc.)

4. Coordinate inter-club activities
This includes team competitions, zone championships, and fostering relationships between clubs—helping create a stronger regional golf community.

5. Deliver funding and grants
We source and distribute funding for junior programs, grassroots initiatives, or special projects aligned with BC Golf priorities.

6. Promote the game regionally
We support initiatives to grow participation—junior golf, women’s golf, and introductory programs—often working with clubs, schools, and community groups.
